Intense weekend of instruction, exploring the role of early frontiersmen on the American frontier. Speakers focus on frontier skills of the longhunter. Space is limited and registration is required. Fee is $40 for members/$45 for non-members.
April 9-10, 2022 - Warden's Fort Tribute - Spring Encampment, Wardensville Visitor's Center, 301 E. Main St., Wardensville, West Virginia. French & Indian War weekend encampment with George Mercer Co. of the Virginia Regiment & Rutherford's Rangers. Open to public 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday. Indoor restrooms. French, Natives, frontiersmen and trades to demonstrate colonial craft making.

Multiple stops along this self-paced "walk" offer visitors a chance to learn about 18th-century life from reenactors and meet notable historic individuals who were once at Fort Randolph. The event commemorates the Siege of Fort Randolph. Walk is self-paced and self-guided. Free admission but donations are welcome. The trading post will be open and a small group of colonial reenactors will be on hand to demonstrate frontier life skills. The number of reenactors is limited and by invitation only.
Aug. 11-14, 2022 - Ohio Valley Mountain Men Summer Rendezvous, 2788 Apple Pie Ridge, Wellsburg, West Virginia. Contact Allen Gellner, 304-650-4657. Gun trail woods walk, painted target shoot, H&K, fire starting, kids games. Camp fee is a suitable rendezvous prize. Dealers welcome and prize donations accepted. Camp feed Saturday night. Provide your own drinking water. Ice available. Service pets only. Public welcome 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Sept. 3-4, 2022 - Fort Henry Days 2022, Wheeling, West Virginia. Website, www.forthenrydays.org. A tribute to Wheeling’s frontier era. Setup Friday 8 a.m.-9 p.m. and 7-9 a.m. Saturday.
